Education & Experience
* Required: Bachelor's and Master's degrees with 5-7 years of experience in business processes and systems OR an Associate s degree with 10+ years of experience.
* Required Experience: Previous experience as a business analyst for the development of large and complex IT solutions.
Technical Skills (Required)
* Methodology: Familiarity with IT Development using Agile methodology and the agile development lifecycle.
* Technical Awareness: Familiarity with various programming languages and technologies used at Caterpillar (e.g., Java, PostgreSQL, AWS).
* Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Leadership: Ability to work with and provide leadership to offshore teams.
Technical Skills (Nice-to-Have)
* Development Background: Previous experience as a Software Engineer (in Java or similar).
* Platform Experience: Experience with off-the-shelf solutions (e.g., Salesforce).
Role & Responsibilities
* Act as the primary liaison between Global Warranty business partners and IT development teams.
* Gather, document, and communicate business requirements for the future warranty solution.
* Perform and lead business process analyses to define objectives and methods.
* Coordinate with product development engineers (using Agile/Scrum) to track and communicate design and development progress.
* Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Write test scripts, work with business partners to execute UAT, and provide status feedback to the development team.
* Write training documents, job aids, and provide support and training to business partners.
* Ensure the solution is achieved in compliance with internal policies (e.g., SoX) and external regulations.
* Identify, document, and report design, reliability, and maintenance problems and bugs.
* Provide expert advice on enterprise business processes and support 2-3 projects concurrently.
Disqualifiers / Red Flags
* Unwilling to work 5 days a week on-site in Peoria, IL.
* A "timid" personality or lack of initiative.
* Choppy tenure or a history of consistent job-hopping.
* Inability to demonstrate experience with large, complex IT projects in an Agile environment.
