Job Title: Desktop Support Engineer

Duration: Fulltime

Location: Boston, MA(Onsite)

We’re seeking a proactive Desktop Support Engineer to assist users across Windows, macOS, and iOS devices—especially those in Apple environments. You’ll troubleshoot issues, support software/hardware installations, and maintain seamless operations for our end users.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide Level 1/Level 2 on-site and remote support for desktop, laptop, and peripheral issues across Windows and macOS platforms .
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems—e.g., FileVault, certificate/keychain issues, printers, VPN connectivity .
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and patch macOS and associated apps (Office for Mac, Adobe Creative Suite, Zoom, etc.) .
  • Perform imaging/deployment tasks, including building standardized system images using SCCM, JAMF, DeployStudio, and Apple Remote Desktop .
  • Manage user lifecycle processes: onboarding, offboarding, access control, and account management in Active Directory and Apple environments .
  • Guide and educate users through clear, empathetic communication—both verbally and in writing .
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation in ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Remedy .
  • Escalate and collaborate with higher-tier teams or vendors as needed .

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • 5–8 years of desktop/laptop support in professional environments supporting both Windows and macOS .
  • Strong hands-on experience with macOS (e.g., Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey), including FileVault, keychain, and system integrity .
  • Familiarity with Apple deployment and management tools (JAMF, Apple Remote Desktop, DeployStudio, Casper/FileWave) .
  • Experience deploying OS images with SCCM for Windows environments .
  • Proficient with Active Directory, account setups, password resets, and group policies .
  • Knowledgeable in basic networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, network printers .
  • Skilled in troubleshooting hardware and peripherals including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and printers .
  • Strong customer-service orientation with excellent written and verbal communication
