Direct Hire – Full Time
Dallas, TX or Ashland City, TN
Hybrid: In-office Tues–Thurs when not traveling; ~50% travel to sites

Job Description
We’re seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our EHS team supporting multiple manufacturing sites. You’ll report to the VP of Environmental and play a key role in managing environmental data, regulatory reporting, audits, and training initiatives across business units. This is a high-impact position ideal for someone with deep air permitting expertise, a strong analytical mindset, and the flexibility to travel frequently.
What You’ll Be Responsible For

Ensure compliance with OSHA/MSHA and all federal, state, and local environmental regulations

Conduct audits, inspections, and environmental risk assessments

Manage major and minor source air permitting and compliance reporting (NESHAP/MACT, emissions inventories, TRI)

Support stormwater, wastewater, and solid/hazardous waste permitting

Maintain regulatory data and reporting schedules (SPCC, SWPPP, Tier II, TRI, EIA, etc.)

Collaborate on environmental programs and BMP implementation across business units

Lead or assist with permitting for new and existing operations (air, mining, stormwater, wetlands)

Perform technical calculations and assist with environmental engineering design when needed

Deliver site-level training and support to EHS personnel

Communicate effectively with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders
Required Experience/Skills
-
3+ years in environmental compliance roles, ideally in industrial or manufacturing settings
-
Strong expertise in air permitting (minor/major source), NESHAP/MACT regulations
-
Experience with TRI reporting, emissions inventories, and compliance reporting
-
Proficiency in Excel and ability to perform detailed technical calculations

Working knowledge of waste management protocols (small/large quantity generators)

Understanding of wastewater, stormwater, and SPCC/SWPPP permitting

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
-
Comfortable with 50% travel and managing priorities across multiple sites/states
Nice-to-Haves

Experience with EMS platforms or environmental auditing tools

Familiarity with Power BI or data visualization tools

PE certification or eligibility (especially for plan certification)

Experience developing and delivering EHS training content

Background in permit scoping and regulatory liaison work
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field

Additional certifications (PE, CHMM, etc.) are a plus
