Job Title- Syteline Subject Matter Experts
Project Location Remote
Duration- 6+ months contract
Role Expectation (Implicit but Important)
This role is not about re-implementing SyteLine. It is about:
- Diagnosing why planning & scheduling are underperforming
- Reconfiguring APS, planning rules, and constraints
- Reducing unnecessary customization
- Making the system usable, trusted, and aligned with shop-floor reality.
Environment & Platform
- Deployment: SyteLine On-Premises
- Version: Mature but not latest (likely 9.x / 10.x lineage); exact version to be confirmed during discovery
- Environments: Production, Test, Development (no dedicated Training environment).
- Infrastructure Management: Internal IT team (with occasional external support).
- Performance / Hardware: No major outages but planning and scheduling performance is inconsistent and not trusted by users.
- Patching / Updates: Applied infrequently; upgrades approached cautiously due to customizations Modules in Scope
- Actively Used: Manufacturing, Inventory, Purchasing, Production, Shop Floor.
- Critical Operations: Manufacturing, Production Planning, Inventory, Shop Floor.
- Underutilized / Ineffective: APS / Production Scheduling (key gap), some planning and capacity features
- Future Plans: No immediate new module rollout; priority is optimizing and reconfiguring existing modules Customization Landscape.
- Customizations Present: Yes - custom forms, IDOs, event handlers, and SQL-based logic
- Built By: Mix of original implementer and internal extensions over time Integrations
- Integrated Systems: WMS, limited MES touchpoints, reporting/BI tools
