Job Title: Project Manager (PMP)

Location: Richmond, VA Hybrid (2 3 days onsite per week)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (PMP) to lead high-visibility IT and business transformation projects that align with organizational strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will excel at managing complex, multi-priority initiatives, balancing schedules, budgets, and resources while ensuring transparent communication with stakeholders and cross-functional teams. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring local on-site presence in Richmond, VA for 2 3 days each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full project lifecycle from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Manage budgets, staffing, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and project timelines.
  • Organize and facilitate project meetings, ensuring clear and effective communication across all stakeholders.
  • Oversee vendor management, procurement processes, and ensure contract compliance.
  • Support and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) as well as transitions into production.
  • Ensure all project documentation meets established agency and PMO standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of project management experience in IT or business transformation environments.
  • PMP, PMO, or PMI certification (Required).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-priority projects effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, and related software.
  • Must be local to Richmond, VA and available to work on-site 2 3 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting state or local government agencies.
  • Familiarity with Virginia procurement and contracting requirements.
  • Previous experience managing enterprise IT systems or software implementation projects.
