Job Title: Sr. Systems Engineer

Location with zip code: Collegeville, PA 19426

Duration: 6+ months, Contract

Pay Rate: $55-60/hr

Shift Timing: Day

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining existing computer infrastructure of 5000 PCs globally Image/Onboard new computers into the domain and onto the network and decommission it.
  • Secure and protect new and existing hardware
  • Consult with the business as they require assistance with their equipment Troubleshoot and implement data flows for scientific instruments

Required Skills:

  • Outstanding computer troubleshooting skills for obscure issues, ranging from device connectivity, and laboratory software issues
  • Background with End-user Computing or Desktop Support skills essential.
  • Break/Fix consists of 80% of a Lab Engineer's workload
  • Understanding of Hardware Components and Networking concepts, such as network topography, VLANSs, Static/Dynamic IPs, Subnetting, IT/OT Networks, and basic understanding of firewalls.
  • Candidate should be familiar with the OSI model and how to troubleshoot different network layers
  • Knowledge and understanding of Active Directory required D2D and/or project support
  • AGILE ways of working necessary
  • Background with computer security
  • Previous experience with validated systems (GxP) a plus
  • Implement the validated data backup solution on laboratory analytical equipment (equipment and software investigation, documentation, technical configuration) within R&D (GxP and non-GxP)
  • Support for scientists in incident management, user support and coaching, access management
  • Testing and validation of computer software (complete tests in different environments, writing technical documentation)
  • Familiar with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
  • Microsoft Excel skills a plus In-depth knowledge in Microsoft OS including iOS and Linux a plus Generic
  • Must have outstanding communication skills
  • Candidate must be a team player Self-starter, attention to detail and willingness to learn new things a must Must be willing to follow processes, procedures and guidance
  • Excellent organizational skills is a must
  • Experience in leading team is a plus Preferred for Lab Enablers:- As above, plus:-o Support business priorities by first intent Uplift all labs to a hardware standard that supports working in a digitalized ecosystem Proactively build stronger partnership with business by aligning technology and science through optimized processes Becoming a new breed of "Tech & business who understands the "science" and use of scientific equipment (HW) + controlling software + data workflow up & downstream Innovative solutions that do not exist today including but not limited to explore and implement automated solutions to scientific problems, paving the way for the lab of the future Strong product ownership/project management.
