Aws Architect

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead the design and execution of a large-scale on-premises to AWS cloud migration (Lift-and-Shift program).

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS cloud services, infrastructure modernization, and migration methodologies, while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition with minimal business disruption.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architecture & Design Define cloud reference architectures for AWS Lift-and-Shift workloads.
• Design migration approaches for compute, storage, database, and networking components.
• Ensure high availability, security, and scalability in migrated workloads.
• Migration Planning & Execution Assess existing on-prem environments (applications, infrastructure, and dependencies).
• Develop migration blueprints and wave-based migration plans.
• Lead execution of migration projects using AWS services (AWS Migration Hub, Application Migration Service, Database Migration Service, etc.). Governance & Compliance Establish cloud governance frameworks covering security, identity, cost management, and compliance.
• Ensure solutions adhere to organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Collaboration & Leadership Partner with infrastructure, application, and security teams to align migration strategy.
• Mentor engineering teams on AWS best practices and migration patterns.
• Act as a technical advisor to stakeholders, ensuring business objectives are met.
• Optimization & Operations Recommend post-migration optimization (cost, performance, monitoring).
• Enable observability and automation through AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.

Qualifications & Skills Education:

• Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: 10+ years of IT infrastructure/architecture experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on AWS cloud architecture and migration experience.
• Proven success in large-scale on-prem to AWS Lift-and-Shift or rehost migrations.
• Technical Skills: Strong expertise in AWS core services: EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, ELB, CloudFormation/Terraform.
• Experience with migration tools: AWS Application Migration Service, Migration Hub, CloudEndure, DMS.
• Knowledge of networking (VPN, Direct Connect, hybrid cloud) and security best practices.
• Familiarity with containerization (ECS, EKS, Docker) is a plus.
• Certifications (preferred): AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional AWS Certified Security/Specialty certifications.
