IT M&A Deal Lead Fully Remote
We are seeking to engage a strategic IT M&A Deal Lead to support its Corporate Development Office and Global IT organization throughout the term of the engagement. The selected supplier will provide one highly qualified resource to lead and coordinate cross-functional IT teams in the planning and execution of complex M&A initiatives under accelerated transaction timelines.
This role will be instrumental in driving the successful delivery of IT workstreams across mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures with a particular focus on application systems integration for acquisitions and application/infrastructure separation for divestitures. The Deal Lead will oversee both application and infrastructure project managers, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, security standards, and business continuity requirements.
Key highlighted responsibilities include:
* Leading IT due diligence, Day 1 readiness, and post-close integration/separation planning.
* Managing cross-functional teams across business units and geographies.
* Developing and executing IT transition plans that minimize disruption and maximize value realization.
* Partnering with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure compliance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in IT program and project management, a strong grasp of enterprise IT systems, and proven experience navigating the complexities of M&A transactions. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as this role interfaces with senior leadership, technical teams, and external partners.
Timeline:
This work is for a multiyear engagement.
Deliverables include:
1. Monitor multiple smaller or one large project through the execution of the transition process
2. Directing work/projects, controlling cost/schedule elements, management of resources, communications management, reporting, and change management.
3. Coordinate and utilize resources for multiple projects in the program
4. Maintain and explain the program methodology, procedures and policies, consistently within the M&A rules and guidelines.
5. Monitor the progress of M&A program components to ensure the overall goals, schedules, budget, and benefits of the program will be achieved.
6. Communicate program objectives, goals, and progress to program directors, executives, upper management, and stakeholders
7. Evaluate and supervise multiple projects
8. Help establish IT M&A program one time cost estimates
9. Delivering programs on schedule, within budget, and in accordance to the specification.
10. Support the vendor selection and management process (scope, plan and milestone definition, operational issues, deliverable & milestone approval, quality control, etc.). Manage vendor administration (invoice approval).
11. Drive program planning and control from an operational point of view (activity, milestones and resource planning), with a special focus on core activities and global plan consolidation.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree required; Advance degree in IT related field or MBA preferred.
* 12+ years Program Management experience required.
* 3-5 years supervisory experience overseeing large scale projects, global teams, project managers.
* Experience leading large IT M&A deployments or separations preferred.
* Advanced program management skills in complex IT and business environments, including ability to coordinate multiple teams in various locations and time zones.
* Deep project management experience managing large-scale, global implementations.
* Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of Project Management methodologies and tools.
* Demonstrated leadership skills. Strong negotiation and team-building skills with the ability to create consensus around decisions and mitigate conflicts among different teams.
* High communication skills required at all levels. Must be able to interact and impact senior leadership. Excellent command of verbal and written communication (English). Effective presentation style for all levels of stakeholders.
* Strong problem solving, decision making, issue analysis and resolution skills. Highly organized.
* Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities with internal clients.
* Ability to work well in a fast-paced multicultural global work environment.
* Must be self-motivated and able to work with ambiguity and aggressive timelines.
* Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities with internal clients.
* Resources to be experienced with M&A activities and requirements, including ability to drive application programs throughout deal lifecycle
* Resources must be familiar with various application and infrastructure technologies
* Resource will report to Sr Director IT M&A and must be able to manage a team of project managers
* Resources will work the entire duration remotely.
