Our client, a leading clothing company, is hiring a Database Administrator on a contract basis.

Work Location:

Summary of Responsibilities:
o Managing and maintaining MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB & Oracle SQL databases.
o Create, configure and optimize databases of different types in the cloud vs on-premises. Making the best and efficient use of each database.
o Ability to work in a high visibility and critical environment.
o Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up so that vital information can be retrieved in case of accidental loss or security breach.
o Strategically plan and implement changes in database operations and ensuring data is readily available to end-users.
o Strategically plan and implement zero-down time changes for Tier-1 databases.
o Migrate databases from across cloud providers, across database types (i.e.: Oracle SQL to PostgreSQL), and cloud PaaS solutions.
o Provide best practices to development teams when writing efficient and high performing queries, indexes, stored procedures.
o Develop, optimize and refactor complex Stored Procedures.
o Provide production support for databases - able to be on-call as needed.
Required Skills:
o Analytical and problem-solving skills
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team
o Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently
o Strong attention to detail
o Experience with database development and management software
o Proficient in MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB & Oracle SQL
o Experience with working with Cloud DB PaaS solutions in Microsoft Azure & Oracle Cloud.
o Experience with database migrations from IaaS to PaaS.
o Experience with database optimizations.
o Experience with large database sets and partition strategies.
Pay Rate: $44- $61/hour W2
