Sr. Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Sr Engineer with our client in the financial industry. This is a 6-month contract to hire position. This role is 100% remote.

Compensation: $ 100-110 per hour W2, depending on skill and experience level.

Job Description
This teams supports the following products:

For suitability and supervision for their compliance process - they have systems in place for checks and balances with their advisors. Also, have systems in place where compliance teams test their advisors on a yearly basis.

Privacy and financial crimes - for privacy - retention rules, consent rules for cookies, privacy policies. For financial crimes, they have systems/products in place o ensure the people they are providing financial services to are legitimate and ethical - no money laundering etc

Facilities, safety and security - systems in place for badges, systems in place make sure HVAC works, lights on properties work

Sr. Engineer role description:

• Ability to design and engineer software solutions, including documenting, collaborating, and aligning with portfolio architects, solution architects, and the local team.
• Strong ability to communicate, facilitate, educate within a group setting.
• Strong ability to collaborate with others to solve local problems or complex design solutions both in and outside the team.
• Ability to balance problem solving or working on for a variety of systems unrelated to one another.
• Passion and appetite to drive technical improvements with the goal of speeding up delivery.
• Assist, coach, and mentor other engineers on the team with day-to-day challenges, complex coding issues and/or problem solving.
• The ability to translate and communicate complex technical issues into simple terms so other non-technical people outside of technology can understand.
• Experienced in maturing devops and engineering practices.
• Experience in engineering of either existing or new solutions, enterprise integrations patterns, and/or microservices architecture.
• Passion for continuous learning and sharing learnings with others.
• Ability to solve complex problems into sustainable and long term solutions
• Technical/Tool Experience
  • 10+ years in Java, spring framework
  • 2+ years using Openshift - must have, event driven technologies (Kafka, Rabbit)
  • 5+ years leveraging database platforms (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, Mongo)
  • 3+ years with event driven and microservices design
  • 3+ years of data analysis, business rules, new data sourcing discovery
  • 3+ years using GitHub, devops practices, and tools
