Description
We are looking for a skilled Ruby Developer to join our team in Garland, Texas, for a long-term contract opportunity. In this role, you will work on modernizing and enhancing web applications by leveraging Ruby on Rails, front-end frameworks, and API development. This position offers the chance to collaborate in a fast-paced environment while contributing to innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and optimize web applications using Ruby on Rails, ensuring scalability and performance.
Build and consume RESTful APIs, including third-party integrations and internal API development.
Implement front-end solutions using frameworks such as React, Next.js, or Vue, shifting to client-side rendering from server-side rendering.
Design and execute unit tests with RSpec to ensure functionality and reliability.
Collaborate with QA teams to deploy modular builds and maintain high-quality standards.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to support frequent production deployments.
Manage containerized workflows using Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
Monitor application performance using tools like New Relic and AWS CloudWatch.
Work with WebSocket protocols to enable real-time communication features.
Participate in ongoing upgrades of the Rails framework, ensuring compatibility with latest versions.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Ruby on Rails development.
Proficiency in RESTful API design and implementation for both client and server-side.
Hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Next.js, or Vue.
Strong understanding of RSpec testing framework and modular testing principles.
Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools for streamlined deployment processes.
Experience with Docker for containerized applications and Terraform for infrastructure management.
Knowledge of cloud monitoring tools such as New Relic and AWS CloudWatch.
Solid understanding of WebSockets and real-time communication protocols.
