Our client is looking for a Director of Information Technology/Chief Information Officer for a permanent opportunity located Centennial, CO.

Major responsibilities include department leadership and management, resource planning and technical operations.
This executive management position is responsible for:
- Leading Information Technology (IT) Staff in developing and communicating the client's technology vision and strategies in support of the client's day-to-day operations, mission, vision, and values;
- Directing the priorities, work plan, people, resource allocation, and budget within IT to provide direct and identifiable business value to the client and ensuring effective and efficient management, development, implementation and operations of the department;
- Managing Staff, technical architecture, and infrastructure, and collaborating across all client's departments and service areas to ensure the client's programs and services are supported.
This position performs a variety of complex leadership, supervisory, professional, and technical functions. This position requires a balance between continuously overseeing the improvement of processes and procedures while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations in order to support the goals and objectives of our client.
qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree with major course work in Information Technology/Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field. Master's Degree preferred.
- 10 or more years of progressively responsible experience in a managerial or leadership role in Information Technology and Systems. Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.

- Knowledge of information technologies, industry-standard architectures and methodologies, industry and government IT "best practices," as well as practical experience with all aspects of IT operations.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of governmental technology standards and guidelines, as well as technology budgeting, auditing and remediation; federal and state IT regulations and guidelines as they may pertain to municipal IT management.
- Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications necessary to perform the job functions.
- Skilled at working in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Skilled at working independently as well as collaborating with any and all members of the organization.
- Skilled at analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions and consequences of proposed actions, and implementing recommendations in support of goals.
- Ability to engage in writing and presentations, contract negotiations, business correspondence and information distribution; research and reporting methods, techniques and procedures.
- Ability to deal effectively with the public, vendors, contractors and staff, in person and over the telephone.
- Ability to prepare and administer large and complex budgets; allocating limited resources in a cost-effective manner.
- Ability to conduct effective negotiations and effectively represents the client and the department in meetings with governmental agencies, contractors, vendors, and various businesses, professional, regulatory and legislative organizations.
- Ability to use tact, initiative, prudence and independent judgment within general policy and legal guidelines in politically sensitive situations.
- Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with Staff, elected officials, partners, business leaders, advisory boards, and others as needed.
- Ability to listen, communicate and deal effectively with management, subordinates, representatives of other government agencies and the general public, researching as necessary to provide requested information.
