Job Description

HII-Mission Technologies is currently seeking a motivated Environmental Senior Test Engineer to work with our team in the testing of advanced systems and technology. As part of our Tactical Sensor Systems division located in Syracuse, NY, you will be helping to advance leading edge electronics and communications technologies. We are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter and can work with minimal oversight. The Environmental Test Engineer must be a "big-picture" thinker who thrives on solving challenging technical problems. You will be working with a multi-disciplinary team in the qualification, testing, and delivery of products with a focus on the end-user/customer. The Environmental Test Engineer will regularly interface with a team consisting of software, digital, hardware, mechanical and product engineers.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Developing test set structures and executing qualification tests
  • Finding and reporting issues before, during, and at the conclusion of testing
  • Develop suitable environmental testing plans and frameworks that align with our customers.
  • Guiding teammates to improve designs to meet performance and environmental specifications


Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers, management, and peers.
  • Experience with:
    • Ensuring test runs and results within the given time frame.
    • Developing and executing test plans to validate software functionality against requirements and specifications.
    • Performing qualification, performance and regression testing of various products.
    • Reporting on test results and defects to the development team and other stakeholders.


Preferred Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Experience utilizing Temperature chambers, Vibration testing equipment and other test equipment for qualification testing.
  • Familiarity with Python or LabVIEW for automating testing
