Position Summary:

As the Quality Engineer you will provide overall quality support to the manufacturing and quality departments with a focus on improving the overall product quality. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong engineering, quality, and operations background. As the Quality Engineer you will participate in quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects and quality issues and make recommendations to improve the production process. The position will interface closely with other cross-functional groups such as our Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D and Quality. For the first year+ , the primary focus will be to lead the SAP implementation throughout the factory. This is an on-site role in Boca Raton, FL.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes basic statistical tools to analyze for trends or issues
  • Develops and analyzes statistical data and specifications to establish product and process capabilities (Cp/Cpk).
  • Identifies, develops, and implements process controls to meet customer/specification requirements
  • Assists and coordinates equipment, cleaning, and process validations
  • Participates in and supports the maintenance of the Quality Management System and Maintains Quality Department business metrics
  • Leads and / or supports thorough investigations of quality issues (CAPA's, Non-Conformances, Audit Observations, etc.) ensuring effective corrective and / or preventive actions occur
  • Participates in cross-functional teams on process control, improvement, and optimization projects; participates in other continuous improvement projects
  • Performs assessments of any given quality system to determine the effectiveness and dependability of such system
  • Assists in investigations, which includes interactions with vendors or Supplier Development and Procurement Management for issues associated with raw materials and components

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in the Science, Engineering or related discipline preferredorextensive relatedexperience can be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • Proficient with MS Office (Office, Word, Excel, Power Point)and other computer programs, with utilization and implementation of SAP ,and other computer platforms utilized in the manufacturing setting
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for the dietary supplement and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing industrypreferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a highly regulatedindustry strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of experience leading continuous improvement projects preferred
  • Knowledge of regulatory and GMP compliance requirements such as 21 CFR Part 111, HACCP, HARPC
  • SQF practitioner / FSSC/ BRC/ ISO experience

Skills:

  • Problem solving and statistical skills using quality tools (Pareto analysis, statistical process control, multi-variant DOE etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills; able to use data, communicate key trends, develop and execute continuous improvement plans
  • Ability to work with cross-functional groups to implement improvements
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to managemultiple tasks and work well under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at alllevels of the organization
  • Influencing skills to accomplish goalsand objectives
