Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mission Systems Integration Engineer to support an advanced air platform program focused on achieving and sustaining national air dominance. As part of MTSI's commitment to delivering innovative engineering services and technology solutions, this role will play a critical part in integrating mission system capabilities, shaping architectural decisions, and enabling data-driven investment choices across complex, mission-critical environments.

The successful candidate will provide mission systems integration expertise supporting mission engineering, modeling and simulation, and cross-platform capability development for next-generation air systems.

Responsibilities
  • Lead mission systems integration activities, including analysis of Mission Threads and Mission Engineering Threads from a mission systems perspective
  • Support and participate in Mission Increment Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), providing technical direction and coordination across Government and industry stakeholders
  • Develop mission systems architectural recommendations informed by detailed Return on Investment (RoI) analyses
  • Lead and support modeling and simulation efforts, including:
  • Simulation environment architecture development
  • Model development, integration, and validation across aircraft systems, mission systems, armament, and complex battlespace representations
  • Development and implementation of standard simulation interfaces
  • Interface with Government and contractor organizations supporting simulation, analysis, and flight simulator development using classified information across multiple formats
  • Scope and support operations analysis studies to inform mission capability development and investment decisions
  • Build mission vignettes and scenarios within modeling and simulation environments such as AFSIM, NGTS, and similar frameworks
  • Develop scripts and analytical tools as required for data reduction, post-processing, and analysis
  • Communicate modeling and simulation results to internal and external stakeholders to support technical and programmatic decision-making
  • Lead and support Government and industry teams through technical planning, design reviews, test reviews, and technical assessments
  • Develop and deliver technical briefings to a wide range of audiences, including senior technical and leadership stakeholders
  • Collaborate with U.S. Government and industry partner organizations to support joint mission capability development
  • Support mission capability development across all phases of acquisition, including Technology Maturation, Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD), Production, and Test

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting mission systems integration, mission engineering, modeling and simulation, or operations analysis efforts
  • Experience developing, integrating, or analyzing models within complex mission or battlespace simulation environments
  • Experience conducting mission thread analysis and translating results into architectural or investment recommendations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing technical content to senior leadership
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, "tip of the spear" environment
  • Strong willingness to learn, execute, and solve complex mission-critical problems

Desired
  • Experience using modeling and simulation frameworks such as AFSIM, NGTS, or similar environments
  • Experience integrating aircraft systems, mission systems, armament, and battlespace representations
  • Experience with Return on Investment (RoI) analysis and data-driven decision support
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools
  • Experience with Government Reference Architectures (GRAs) and integration into operational weapon systems
  • Familiarity with agile development methods and tools such as Atlassian Suite and Cameo

Clearance and Travel Requirements:
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • This position supports a Special Access Program (SAP) and requires work in a vault/SCIF environment
