Title: Azure AD Consultant
Location: Charlotte, NC (Remote)- Local Only


Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Azure AD Consultant to lead and support M&A (Merger and Acquisition) identity integration projects. This role involves assessing, consolidating, and optimizing identity environments across both On-Premises Active Directory and Azure AD platforms. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong project leadership, and a strategic mindset to ensure seamless integration of identity services during organizational transitions.


Key Responsibilities:

M&A Transition & Integration:

  • Develop and implement processes for M&A identity transitions.

  • Conduct comprehensive inventories and assessments of On-Prem and Azure AD environments within acquired companies.

  • Analyze identity environments, including GPOs, OU structures, delegation of permissions, and more.

  • Deploy necessary agents (e.g., MDI, MS Password Protection, Tanium) to support transition efforts.

  • Lead bulk identity creation, consolidation, and user/group migration tasks.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate identity services across merging organizations.

  • Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for both On-Prem and Azure AD environments.

Azure AD Expertise:

  • Utilize Azure AD features such as Conditional Access, Identity Protection, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Azure AD Connect.

  • Manage complex scenarios including Tenant-to-Tenant migrations, Cross-Tenant Collaboration, and Identity Federation.

  • Work with DNS records in Azure including MX, TXT, A, PTR, etc.

Project Management & Documentation:

  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation for M&A transitions.

  • Provide consistent updates and status reports to senior management.

  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and M&A playbooks.

  • Review and optimize existing documentation to align with evolving integration strategies.


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Active Directory architecture and administration.

  • Proven expertise in On-Prem to Azure AD migration and identity integration projects.

  • Strong background in M&A transition work with a focus on identity and access management.

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSE, Azure Solutions Architect) or equivalent experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and related infrastructure technologies.

  • Advanced understanding of Azure AD identity management, synchronization, and security controls.

  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and environment management.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex directory-related issues.


Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with hybrid identity solutions and third-party migration tools.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Intune, and broader Microsoft cloud ecosystems.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Passion for continuous learning and keeping up with industry advancements.
