Position Title : Lead Software Engineer

Job Description :

Participate in full-cycle software development, including development, regression testing, deployment, and production support to drive software development of Wellington's next generation of investment management tools. Provide technical contribution to a development team with responsibility for application design, database design and implementation. Partner closely with investment teams and other technology teams to understand business needs and to create effective technical solutions. Participate in implementation of business process improvements involving, but not limited to, investment process efficiency, data quality improvements, and simplifying investor workflow. Train and mentor junior software developers and able to provide technology direction for the business teams. Position is fixed location based in Boston office; however, telecommuting from a home office location may also be allowed.

Job Requirements :

Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a directly related field plus six (6) years of experience driving the analysis, design, development, and implementation of complex business critical applications.

Must have four (4) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
  • Various financial instruments and investment data concepts, including derivatives, risk and strategy management
  • Database design
  • Data related development tools, including DataStage and Stored Procedures
  • Data analysis and SQL tuning in relational databases
  • Oracle for Managing Support for upgrades and database system level issue resolution
  • Developing solutions using Python and JSON
  • Working with Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Assistants to understand their investment process
  • Building batch jobs with IBM Tivoli Tools and Maestro
  • Working with data relevant for Fixed Income Domain
  • AWS services, including S3, EC2, MySQL, Lambda, and CloudFormation
  • Modern software development and testing methodologies, including Artifactory, GIT and Jenkins CI
Must have three (3) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
  • Developing solutions using Web Services and Open-Fin technologies
40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm. Salary: $140,000 - 160,000/year.
