Hardware Engineer / Electrical Engineering / Onsite / Bellevue, WA

Our client is a fortune 5 company specializing in Retail, IT, Aviation, transportation, etc. Based out of Bellevue, WA, the Fleet Tracking and Telematic team is looking for a hardware development engineer who can supplement their team. They are looking to hire am Hardware Development Engineer/Mechanical Engineer IV on a contractual) bases.

In this role, you will work with a diverse team of Hardware and Software engineers to innovate and deliver solutions for middle mile transportation. Their mission is to deploy hardware devices, firmware and the cloud services to track and collect telemetry from their assets on the road and under the roof.

Contract Duration: 9+ Months

Required Skills & Experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience with fundamentals in analog, digital, and RF circuit design
  • Experience with embedded systems prototyping and implementation
  • Strong knowledge of wireless protocols, particularly Bluetooth and RFID technologies
  • Experience with PCB design and layout
  • Proficiency in using electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers)
  • Strong mathematical and electromagnetic theory fundamentals

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience in RF system design and optimization
  • Proficiency in embedded firmware development (C/C++/Python)
  • Experience with low-power design and battery optimization
  • Knowledge of wireless certification requirements (FCC, CE, etc.)
  • Experience with antenna design and RF propagation
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI testing and compliance requirements

Daily Responsibilities
  • Responsible for bringing an indoor asset tracking solution from ideation, through prototyping, testing and all the way to production.
  • Responsible for defining system specifications, integrating system components, creating and executing test campaigns.
  • You will work closely with Amazon operation teams and with Joint Development Manufacturers (JDM) to scale the product to hundreds of Amazon warehouses.
  • The role requires understanding of Electrical Engineering fundamentals including Wireless communication and wave propagation.
  • Develop and test Bluetooth and RFID technologies.
