Description

This position supports the Joint Fires Network (JFN), Distributed Experimentation Environment (DE2) and Vanguard Force DevOps Environment (VFDE) - These OUSD R&E, DARPA and TRMC initiatives are designed to leverage Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) experimentation in developing advanced warfighter architectures and CONOPS and link sensors and weapons platforms in times of critical conflict around the globe.

The candidate will provide technical support to improve Multi-Domain Command and Control (MDC2) capabilities through the development and continuous improvement of the JFN Prototype, DE2 and VFDE systems.
  • Work directly with customers in a technical role

  • Design and implement communications solutions which can be deployed to field/remote locations to connect secure facilities and support the exchange of required data within a cloud environment.
  • Assist in the designing and implementing of approved networking and transport solutions to support long-term Information System (IS) management goals. Installing and configuring network equipment and providing support to systems administrators.
  • Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance and lead troubleshooting, efforts to resolve, networking issues between local and external sites.
  • Have a working knowledge of DoD Information Assurance (IA) policies to be applied to the design and maintenance of communications solutions.
  • Manage and maintain a library of network engineering tools, that can be used for system testing and diagnosis of network-related system issues both locally and abroad.
  • Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts to the development, maintenance, and implementation of network engineering standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Maintain current knowledge and implement best practices in networking security to offer the best solutions and protection to information systems.
  • Produce documentation to support installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and operator usage of systems worked on.
  • Contribute technical content and tutorials to product documentation

Position Requires onsite support in a classified environment

Employee will be required to travel in support of distant end installations or break fix actions if they cannot be accomplished remotely. Such travel may be with limited (less than 3 days) notice.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with implementation and understanding of Engineering principles in a professional environment
  • 5+ years of experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of network architectures
  • ship and an active Top Secret clearance
  • IAT Level 1 (CompTIA Security + and OS/Computing Environment certification)
  • Experience maintaining, configuring, operating and troubleshooting complex electronic computer interface systems and network equipment
Work Schedule
  • Ability to work within company and customer schedule requirements which may vary depending on criticality and necessity of a given task.
  • Ability to perform onsite work in secure facilities minimum of 75% of time

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
