Our client is one of the industry's leading fiber optic manufacturers with a 25+ year innovation track record and customer base in more than 100 countries. Our client's wide range of end-to-end fiber optic solutions includes multi-loose tube cable, micro duct cable, and ribbon cable.
Our client is seeking a Facility IT Digital Services Specialist to backfill their current contractor.
The Facility IT Digital Services Specialist analyzes, designs, and troubleshoots the facility's information technology systems and processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness. Uses defined policies and procedures to evaluate, recommend, and implement new IT systems or enhance existing systems to integrate with current and future needs. Supports management with project planning, risk assessment, and project tracking to deliver timely IT solutions within budget. Additionally, the Facility IT Digital Services Specialist provides support to end-users, assisting with software and hardware malfunctions, setting up new equipment, and documenting and escalating issues as necessary.
This person will be the only IT support at this location and will work hand in hand with their IT team in India.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze and solve IT related business problems, related to production, inventory control and quality systems.
2. Lead plant IT projects and direct vendors engaged in special project work related to the installation of data communication equipment and software.
3. Coordinate the installation of computer programs and systems.
4. Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications and solicit cooperation in the implementation of new systems or upgrades.
5. Routinely tests and monitors IT system performance to ensure system security and reliability.
6. Install and configure software and apply patches or updates to maintain facility IT infrastructure such as servers, workstations, and network devices.
7. Troubleshoot program and system malfunctions and restore normal functioning.
8. Serve as a technical support for end users providing technical support for computer hardware, software, barcode systems, handhelds, and their configuration.
9. Answer end user questions or resolve computer problems concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation and electronic mail.
10. Onboard new employees, ensuring they have the proper IT credentials, hardware, and training.
11. Determines and assigns digital assets and access rights to employees based on the specific needs of the position and incumbent.
12. Need to have a solid understanding of network management (Network implementation, configuring network hardware like routers and switches, and server management)
13. Perform a daily health check for both network and server administration, specifically at an L2 level.
14. Hands-on experience in network and server administration (Windows), possessing key skills at least at an L2 level, in addition to endpoint management.
15. Understand protocols like TCP/IP.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in IT related field and 1 year experience or high school diploma and 4-5 Years of IT related experience and specialized training.
2. Ability to analyze and develop solutions to complex IT systems utilizing process maps, flow charts, and diagrams.
3. Ability to work on-site during normal business hours and provide technical support remotely during non-business hours.
4. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to dust, heat, cold, noise etc., but not to the extent of being disagreeable.
5. Moderate physical effort consisting of lifting or moving material weighing over 25 pounds.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
