Job Details

Project Overview:

  • This project is focused on evaluating new and existing mobile features for iOS in conjunction with upcoming feature rollouts and marketing initiatives. The goal is to assess how these features are perceived by users and to inform strategic decisions around whether a feature should be launched, improved, or deprioritized ultimately ensuring that feature development aligns with user needs and delivers meaningful value.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • This role will focus on using survey and interview studies to evaluate features, and messaging, and to inform a potential marketing strategy.
  • Design and implement research studies (semi-structured interviews, usability tests, surveys).
  • Run research studies (e.g., program a survey in Qualtrics, carry out interviews with participants, etc.).
  • Plan and execute evaluations of new and existing messaging apps features.
  • Define success metrics and KPIs for feature performance.
  • Design user research studies and analyze feedback to assess feature value.
  • Identify user pain points and areas for improvement.
  • Make data-driven recommendations on whether a feature should be launched, improved, or deprioritized.
  • Align recommendations with business goals and marketing strategies
  • Create reports and presentations to communicate findings and decisions.
  • Influence product roadmap and prioritization through clear evidence-based insights.
  • Analyze results and communicate findings (e.g., in slide decks).

Experience (Mandatory):

  • 4 years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar.
  • Experience assessing and enhancing the user experience of messaging and mobile app features during launch phases on iOS and Android.
  • Strong understanding of user experience (UX) principles and design thinking.
  • Experience with research design and analysis utilizing various methods (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.).
  • Experience with Qualtrics and basic statistical techniques.
  • Strong grasp of diverse research methods, including A/B testing, alpha and beta testing, usability studies, concept testing, diary studies, literature reviews, focus groups, and surveys etc.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills including ability to distil findings into concise insights and engage and excite stakeholders about research.

Experience (Desired):

  • Successful track record of running user research programs, employing a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little direction.
  • Passionate, high attention to detail, innovative, creative, and team focused.
  • Familiar with iOS.

Education:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
