Job Description

Principal Systems Engineer - Medical Device (Plymouth, MN)

In this role, you will contribute to a breakthrough cardiac ultrasound imaging solution that revolutionizes minimally invasive image-guided therapies for patients undergoing complex life-saving trans-catheter cardiac procedures.

Your role:

  • Responsible for translating customer and product management inputs into product requirements and engineering system requirements from stakeholder inputs.
  • Acts as a bridge between various functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs, facilitating effective communication and alignment on systems engineering requirements and standards.
  • Responsible for analyzing system requirements and generating detailed design specifications, employing advanced systems engineering techniques to optimize system performance and reliability, working under limited supervision.
  • Conducts in-depth system analyses and performance assessments, leveraging advanced modeling and simulation techniques to identify optimization opportunities and mitigate risks.
    Responsible for directing system integration and verification coordination.
  • Reviews and assesses system documentation and design artifacts with rigorous attention to detail, verifying compliance with established systems engineering principles and industry regulations.

You're the right fit if:

  • You've acquired 10+ years of engineering experience in the design and commercialization of medical products; experience system architecture, system design, system integration or hardware engineering is preferred.
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Medical Physics, Computer Science, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • You have the ability to make things happen by encouraging and channeling the contributions of others, recognizing, and addressing important issues in a timely manner, and acting as an agent for change and continual improvement when required to achieve results.
  • You demonstrate the ability to interface with and understand engineers and technical professionals from diverse disciplines, expertly translating concepts and requirements across domains to foster cohesive collaboration and ensure all system elements are effectively integrated.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • You have high level skills in prototyping and test method development, interpreting/presenting data, conducting advanced statistical analysis, and writing technical reports.

How we work together:

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.

This is an office-based role.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in MN is $145,000 to $223,000

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
