We're seeking an experienced IT Business Systems Analyst II to join our team in a hybrid capacity based in Business Systems Analyst II. This role will serve as a vital link between business units and the IT department-interpreting organizational needs and translating them into practical, scalable technical solutions. The analyst will help optimize business systems, streamline workflows, and support strategic goals through effective system analysis and stakeholder collaboration.
Core Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
- Engage with IT staff, product owners, and cross-functional stakeholders to identify and define business needs and process improvements.
- Conduct requirement-gathering activities such as interviews, workshops, and analysis of documentation to support new solutions or enhancements.
- Collaborate with architects, software engineers, and DevOps professionals to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with enterprise scalability goals.
System Design & Optimization:
- Evaluate current systems and operational processes to identify inefficiencies or functional gaps.
- Prepare detailed documentation including functional specifications, system architecture, and workflow models.
- Work alongside development teams to ensure designs align with business expectations and IT standards.
Project Execution & Testing:
- Assist in planning projects by defining scope, timelines, and resource estimates.
- Coordinate efforts with developers, PMs, and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Lead and participate in system testing efforts-including functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT)-to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Stakeholder Communication & Training:
- Act as a liaison to ensure a shared understanding between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Support user onboarding and training, helping teams to maximize the value of implemented systems.
Data & Reporting:
- Partner with data teams to ensure seamless data integration and high-quality reporting.
- Design and maintain dashboards and business intelligence tools to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
Continuous Process Improvement:
- Stay informed of emerging trends, tools, and best practices in the IT and business systems space.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and increased operational efficiency.
Quality Assurance & UAT Leadership:
- Define and validate acceptance criteria for user stories and features.
- Collaborate with QA staff to build test plans and ensure readiness for production deployment.
- Facilitate UAT sessions and validate that the final product meets functional and business expectations.
Product Release & Support:
- Work with release managers, DevOps, and support teams to coordinate software rollouts.
- Monitor post-launch performance and feedback, making adjustments where necessary.
- Provide technical and functional support following go-live events.
Risk Management & Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all systems and business applications are compliant with relevant regulations (e.g., SOX, PCI-DSS) and internal standards.
- Partner with security teams to mitigate vulnerabilities and uphold cybersecurity requirements.
- Participate in audits and help maintain risk documentation, disaster recovery plans, and compliance reports.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: At least 3 years in a Business Systems Analyst or similar role.
- Proven expertise with low-code development platforms and SQL.
- Strong experience with data visualization tools and report building.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture, containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and modern cloud-native application development.
- Hands-on use of Git, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD and version control tools.
Desired Skills & Tools:
- Knowledge of automation frameworks, monitoring tools, and logging platforms.
- Proficiency in business analysis software such as Microsoft Visio or Lucidchart.
- Experience using project management tools like Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, or Asana.
- Deep understanding of business processes, particularly involving ERP and CRM systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in root cause analysis.
- Ability to effectively translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments, preferably with CSPO, PSPO, or SAFe certifications.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
