Summary
The Senior Data Governance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the integrity, quality and governance of the organization's data assets. This role develops and implements governance frameworks, ensures data accuracy and consistency, advances metadata management best practices, and leads data stewardship activities across departments. The Senior Analyst will collaborate with data stewards, business units, support areas, and technology teams to ensure that data governance initiatives support business objectives, operational efficiencies, and regulatory compliance.

Champions data governance and quality initiatives to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability across platforms and business processes.
Defines and implements metadata management best practices, including classification, lineage tracking, and documentation.
Leads data stewardship efforts, working with business units and data owners to establish clear governance roles and responsibilities.
Develops and enforces data governance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Manages multiple governance initiatives, ensuring timely execution and strategic alignment with business objectives.
Supports the implementation and management of a data catalog, optimizing usage for discovery, classification, and governance.
Collaborates with Information Technology, analytics, compliance, and business intelligence teams to embed governance standards into operational workflows.
Provides training and guidance on data stewardship, governance policies, metadata management and business glossary development to drive consistent data understanding.
Stays informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and evolving methodologies to ensure compliance and best practices.
Monitors and reports on data governance and quality metrics, driving accountability and continuous improvements.
Conducts root cause analysis on data quality issues using systems thinking and enterprise-wide data analysis, coordinating resolution strategies across platforms to prevent recurrence.
Leads data quality improvement initiatives across business units and data domains, ensuring continuous enhancement of data integrity.
Ensures data cleansing activities eliminate errors, duplicates, and inconsistencies, supporting accurate reporting and decision-making.
Provides support to data stewards, offering guidance on maintaining data quality within their respective domains.
Oversees and perform data governance tool selection and implementation for quality monitoring and improvement efforts.

Additional Posting Info:
The wage range for the Sr. Enterprise Data Governance Analyst position is $70,000-$75,000 annually. The position includes 22 days of PTO (Paid Time Off), 5 days of STD (Short Term Disability), 11 annual paid holidays and 1 float holiday.

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Information Systems, Data Management, Business Analytics, or related field required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management, data governance, data quality or a related field in the financial services industry required.
Extensive knowledge of data governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices required.
Strong background in data quality management, including issue identification, resolution strategies, and continuous improvement efforts required.
Prior experience in data catalog implementation and management (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica) required.
Proven experience in developing and implementing data policies, standards, and procedures preferred.
