Job Title: Network Engineer / Network Manager Data Center & Team Leadership

Location: 815 Chestnut Street, North Andover, MA, 01845 (Hybrid -3 days per week)

Position Summary

  • As the Network Engineer/Manager, you will play a dual role: leading a high-performing network engineering team, and ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our enterprise network and data center infrastructure.
  • You will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining robust network systems, while also serving as a strategic leader and mentor within the IT Infrastructure team.

Key Responsibilities

Network & Infrastructure Management

  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise network infrastructure across WAN, LAN, WLAN, VPN, and cloud environments.
  • Oversee configuration and lifecycle management of core networking hardware including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.).
  • Lead the operation and continuous improvement of enterprise data centers and colocation facilities, ensuring high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Evaluate and integrate new networking technologies, services, and vendors to meet evolving business needs.

Team Leadership & Strategy

  • Manage and mentor a team of network engineers and administrators, fostering technical excellence, accountability, and professional development.
  • Lead capacity planning, performance tuning, and network optimization initiatives.
  • Serve as an escalation point for critical network issues and incidents, driving timely resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, application, and infrastructure teams to align network operations with enterprise goals and policies.

Project & Vendor Oversight

  • Plan and execute complex network projects, including upgrades, migrations, expansions, and data center initiatives.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance metrics related to network and colocation services.
  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation, SOPs, and network diagrams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering, with at least 3+ years in a team leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong experience with data center environments, including rack management, structured cabling, power/cooling considerations, and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Deep technical knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.), routing/switching, and firewall security.
  • Proven experience managing a team of network engineers in a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Experience with cloud networking and hybrid models (Azure, AWS) a strong plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, project management, and communication skills.

Preferred Certifications

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), or equivalent
  • Palo Alto, Fortinet, or other security certifications
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Project management certifications (PMP, Agile, etc.) are a plus
