JOB DESCRIPTION:
- A minimum of a bachelor s degree in chemistry, Radiation, Biology, or a
- related EH&S Or Risk Management field
- Advanced degrees preferred
- Experience:
- Proven experience in applicable data management for EH&S fields such as chemical data management
- Hands-on laboratory experience preferred, including inventory management
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in research information software and databases and data
analysis tools. (e.g., ChemDraw, Chemdoodle, AIHA, DOT and EPA tools
- Familiarization with the Globally Harmonized Standard (GHS) for research for example
- International Chemical Identifier (InChI), Chemical Abstracts Registry Service (CAS), OSHA (& Cal/OSHA) regulations & resources.
- Ability to read and understand research-based nomenclature for data such as chemicals, Radioactive agents or biological hazards.
Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of chemical, biological, radioactive and other classifications, properties, and safety protocols.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Familiarity with California, US Federal and international regulations related to chemical, radioactive or biological handling and storage
Attention to Detail:
- High level of accuracy is extremely important in reading, understanding and entering data and physical and regulatory data into the RSS Library
- Also quite important is the ability to rapidly evaluate when data is reasonable or obviously incorrect.
Communication Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
Problem-solving:
- Ability to troubleshoot issues related to chemical data management.
Team Collaboration:
- Ability to work eAectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Project Management:
- Experience in managing projects related to chemical library maintenance and updates.
