SAP FICO Developer
Overview:
The SAP FICO Developer is responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting in-house software applications or integrations to meet business requirements and objectives. This includes coding from technical specifications, testing applications and interfaces, maintaining documentation, and providing end-user support for specific code. The developer will adhere to development standards, apply best practices, and focus on delivering high-quality, innovative solutions.
This is a hands-on, Level IV developer role focused primarily on SAP Finance (FICO) within an S/4HANA environment, with potential exposure to CPI (middleware/BTP) and Fiori/UI5 development. The role supports independent contribution while collaborating with the business and IT teams on design, implementation, and enhancement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and maintain SAP FICO applications, integrations, and extensions.
- Translate technical specifications into functional applications and integrations.
- Test applications, troubleshoot issues, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Apply best practices in software development and adhere to coding standards.
- Collaborate with business users and IT stakeholders to understand requirements and provide solutions.
- Serve as a technical lead or mentor on large-scale development projects, coaching junior developers.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend software and hardware products to improve functionality and performance.
- Design solutions holistically, considering impact across the entire SAP landscape.
- Identify risks and provide timely communication to stakeholders.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and efficiency enhancements in SAP development projects.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, project reports, and training materials.
- Participate in Agile teams and support iterative development cycles.
- Serve as liaison between IT and business divisions on projects, enhancements, and problem resolution.
- Independently resolve technical issues, coordinate with teams, and implement corrective actions.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 9+ years SAP development experience (Level IV).
- Strong expertise in SAP FICO development.
- Hands-on experience with SAP development tools: IDocs, BAPIs, BADIs, workflows, and interfaces.
- Experience with S/4 HANA environment; exposure to CPI (BTP platform) and Fiori/UI5 is a plus.
- Familiarity with full lifecycle SAP implementations and application development processes.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience mentoring or coaching other developers is preferred.
- Flexible to work on-site in Dallas or Miramar when necessary, with a hybrid schedule possible.
