DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Texas Education Agency requires the services of 1 Developer/Programmer Analyst 3, hereafter referred to as Candidate(s), who meets the general qualifications of Developer/Programmer Analyst 3, Applications/Software Development and the specifications outlined in this document for the Texas Education Agency.
All work products resulting from the project shall be considered "works made for hire" and are the property of the Texas Education Agency and may include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their Candidates) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by Texas law. Texas Education Agency will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur during the process of selecting a Candidate(s).
Position Overview:
- Agency is seeking a skilled Jira Developer to support and enhance our Atlassian Jira Cloud environment
- This role will focus on maintaining, optimizing, and expanding Jira Software and Jira IT Service Management The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in JQL, Jira administration, and automation, and will collaborate Experience with Jira on-premise to cloud migration is a strong plus
- While Atlassian Access is primarily managed by another team member, a basic understanding of Active Directory, access controls, and identity management is important for success in this role.
Job Description:
- Design, configure, and maintain Jira Software and Jira ITSM projects in the Atlassian Cloud environment.
- Develop and optimize JQL queries, workflows, automations, and permissions to support business operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable Jira solutions.
- Utilize Jira REST APIs and scripting (HTML/JavaScript) for customizations and integrations.
- Work with key plugins such as Script Runner, JMWE, Email This Issue, Extension for Jira Service Desk, Provide clear, well-structured documentation and communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with Jira administration and development, with a focus on Jira Cloud.
- Strong proficiency in JQL and hands-on experience with Jira ITSM configuration.
- Preferred experience with Jira on-premise to cloud migration, including workflows and data.
- Familiarity with Atlassian Access and basic understanding of Active Directory and access controls.
- Experience with Jira REST APIs, HTML, and JavaScript for custom development.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English (CEFR C2 or equivalent), with a focus on documentation and stakeholder engagement.
