Our challenge
We are seeking an accomplished Cybersecurity Practice Leader to join our team. This strategic role will lead our global cybersecurity practice within the financial services sector, driving technical excellence, business growth, and client success. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, a proven track record in financial services cybersecurity, and strong experience in presales activities, including winning new business.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $200k - $220k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop Synechron's cybersecurity practice and service offerings tailored for financial services clients, establishing the practice as a market leader.
- Support revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, leading presales engagements, and building strong client relationships.
- Develop and execute the practice's strategic vision, aligning technical capabilities with market demands and client needs.
- Provide executive subject matter expertise on cybersecurity threats, risk management, security architecture, compliance, and emerging technologies specific to financial services. .
- Collaborate with sales, delivery teams, and leadership to create compelling proposals, solutions, and storylines that demonstrate value.
- Provide governance and quality assurance for all our delivery engagements ensuring the highest quality standards in cybersecurity consulting, assessments, implementations, and managed services.
- Serve as executive sponsor and provide executive guidance on the development of our Finlabs accelerators focusing on cybersecurity.
- Collaborate closely with the Synechron CISO to utilize internal expertise and implementations to enhance client delivery efforts.
- Stay abreast of industry and security trends, regulatory changes, and threat intelligence to maintain cutting-edge expertise and differentiated offerings.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of cybersecurity professionals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients, industry bodies, and technology partners to expand Synechron's influence and capabilities in cybersecurity.
- Serve as Serve as executive mentor to all Cybersecurity Practice staff, providing strategic guidance, professional development, and leadership coaching.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation by sharing industry best practices, facilitating regular knowledge-sharing sessions, and supporting career progression.
- Act as a trusted advisor, helping team members navigate complex challenges, set and achieve professional goals, and cultivate the skills necessary for advancement within the organization and the broader cybersecurity field.
- Travel is expected on short notice to Synechron's offices and client locations in North America
- Global travel is expected on this role to build strategic engagement across Synechron's locations on a needs basis
- This success of this role will be through winning new business in collaboration with Synechron's Sales and Accounts teams, and hands-on execution of strategic programs to demonstrate value
- Proven experience leading cybersecurity engagements within financial services or related industries.
- Strong technical background in cybersecurity domains such as threat intelligence, identity and access management, cloud security, data protection, and regulatory compliance (e.g., FFIEC, GDPR, NYDFS).
- Demonstrated success in presales activities, including developing proposals, delivering demonstrations, and closing new business.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging C-level stakeholders.
- Track record of successfully developing client relationships and growing practice revenue.
- Prior experience in a consulting or professional services environment preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or CCSK highly desirable.
