Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer in Birmingham, AL.

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to support our client's QA team in enhancing their automation capabilities while continuing to drive efficient manual testing practices. You'll work in a collaborative Agile environment and contribute to both sprint-based and regression testing cycles, with a focus on UI and API testing.

This position is ideal for someone who is confident in leading automation efforts, can participate actively in sprint planning, and is comfortable working closely with development, QA analysts, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
* Lead automation efforts for project-level testing across UI and API components
* Collaborate with developers, QA analysts, and business teams to review requirements and ensure test coverage
* Develop and execute manual test cases; Identify candidates for automation in regression cycles
* Create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium (C#) and Postman
* Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and delivery
* Participate in sprint planning and backlog grooming to provide accurate testing estimates
* Coordinate testing activities with onshore and offshore teams as needed
* Document and track defects in tools such as Jira and Tricentis qTest
* Support testing in containerized environments using tools such as Docker

REQUIREMENTS:
* High School diploma/GED with 10+ years of experience or Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience in software testing and/or automation; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field preferred
* 5-8 years of hands-on experience in test automation and manual QA
* Strong experience with: Manual testing (60-70%); Automation testing (30-40%); Selenium with C#; Postman for API testing; CI/CD pipelines; Writing and executing UI and API test cases; Collaborating with developers and business users
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and documentation abilities
* High degree of self-motivation and ownership
* Team-oriented mindset with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams
* Proven ability to work in Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies
* Must be comfortable working remotely and coordinating across distributed teams in Central or Eastern time zones

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with:
* Tricentis qTest
* RestSharp, TestNG, or RestAssured
* Bamboo, GIT, Artifactory, JIRA, and Confluence
* Visual Studio, Eclipse, or IntelliJ
* Power BI
* Banking or Treasury Management domain knowledge highly preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
