Job Details
We are seeking a Facility & Safety Specialist to oversee operations and safety at a multi-functional chemical lab facility. This hybrid role combines facility management with safety leadership to ensure a compliant, secure, and efficient working environment across multiple research and production areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Excellence
- Implement and maintain legally compliant safety and health programs aligned with OSHA, ANSI, and other regulatory standards.
- Conduct incident investigations and lead preventative action planning.
- Perform safety audits and inspections of equipment and facilities.
- Lead Process Hazard Assessments (PHAs), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs), and other risk evaluations.
- Support chemical hygiene plans and emergency response procedures.
- Facilitate safety meetings and communicate site-wide safety protocols.
Facility Operations & Maintenance
• Supervise building infrastructure, janitorial services, waste removal, and aesthetic upkeep.
• Manage emergency systems including fire suppression, generators, and UPS.
• Oversee security systems and access control.
• Coordinate facility improvement projects and contractor services.
• Prepare bid specifications, evaluate proposals, and manage vendor payments through SAP.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years in a specialist safety role or 5+ years in chemical manufacturing.
• Knowledge of industrial hygiene, hazardous materials, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong project planning and facilities management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and SAP; CSP certification or willingness to obtain.
