MEP Plumbing Designer

Role: MEP Plumbing Designer

Location: Austin, TX (Onsite)

Duration:6+ Months (Contract to Hire)

Responsibilities include:

Using Revit software to create 3-D models of plumbing systems

Designing plumbing systems for both new and renovated factory areas

Prepare plan sections, detail drawings, create spool sheets, bill of materials, hanger lists, P&IDs, etc.

Coordinate and detail 3D plumbing systems.

Specifying equipment selections and system sizing per design calculations

Applying various building codes to meet city, state, and national construction requirements

Work independently while partnering with and receiving direction and guidance from Plumbing Lead

Perform file management functions such as posting models, downloading model updates, managing links, and historic versioning.

Attend coordination meetings, communicate with other trades, and create reports as required.

Assist in clash detection of coordination models.

Create detailed field installation drawings and fabrication drawings.

Provide technical support for existing projects and field service.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent Revit drafting skills.

Proficient in BIM software (NavisWorks, Bluebeam, 360Glue, etc ).

Ability to review and understand contract drawings and specifications.

Able to work well in a fast-paced environment.

General knowledge of construction process.
