Job Details

Title: Senior Network Engineer - DWDM
Location: Seattle,WA (5 days on site)
Pay: $75-$85/hr on W2 (DOE)
Contract: W2; 9 months contract
Daily Schedule: Mon-Fri 9-5
Estimated Start Date: ASAP
Client: Fortune 50 Company

Primary responsibilities
* Design, build and rollout our global DWDM networks;
* Drive scaling designs to meet the demand of our customers;
* Create processes that help operate and build our optical network;
* Work closely with other Networking teams;
* Evaluate new products and drive commercial tender process;
* Ensure that the optical network adheres to the defined network standards;
* Review and implement changes on the optical systems;
* Drive operational excellence projects to drive improvements in our DWDM network quality and reliability;
* Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions day to day on our network

Job Qualifications:
* Bachelor s Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience to a Bachelor's degree;
* Minimum of 7+ years industry experience;
* Experience with optical planning, modelling tools and rollout of large DWDM networks;
* Expertise IP networking fundamentals and IP protocols;
* In-depth knowledge of and experience with major DWDM platforms (Ciena, Infinera and Cisco);
* In-depth knowledge of and experience with major router platforms (Cisco and Juniper) including compatible supervisory and line cards for these platforms;
* In-depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocols; specifically BGP and OSPF;
* Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills;
* Candidates should also have had significant past experience with, and expertise in many of the following protocols & technologies: DWDM, T1/DS1, DS3, SONET (OC3, OC48), 802.2/3, 802.1d VLANs/STP, IPv4 & IPv6, TCP (internals & flow control), BGP, OSPF, HSRP/GLBP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, TACACS, IPSEC & VPNs, netflow, DNS, HTTP;
