Job Title: Senior Database Administrator
Location: Hybrid Iselin, NJ/New York City, NY / CT
Experience: 10+ Years
Type: Contract to hire
Client Note : We are currently looking for a candidate who has strong expertise in SQL and Dataware house along with a good understanding of Oracle and exposure to other database technologies (such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
Please prioritize profiles that demonstrate hands-on SQL development and performance tuning skills, with the ability to work across multiple database platforms in a production environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for overseeing all SQL and Oracle databases, encompassing business intelligence, data warehouse and operational systems feeding into the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
The role will encompass creating, monitoring and optimizing enterprise level systems and providing tuning and capacity planning.
The candidate will also be responsible for the deployment of code, the maintenance of upgrades, the adherence to audit requirements and ensuring that the production systems operate on a 24/7 basis.
Responsible for ensuring that database environments are functioning correctly. This includes storage, archiving, backup and recovery, performance, capacity planning.
Assist database developers in refining the "logical design" of the production and test databases so that it can be translated into a specific data model.
Maintain access permissions and privileges.
Oversee Audit controls for the database environment and working with Internal Audit to fulfill any audit requirements.
Responsible for communicating regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure the database integrity and security

Requirements
7-10 years of experience in a database administration role
Extensive experience with Oracle and MS SQL systems maintenance, tuning and scripting.
Exposure to Informix, MongoDB, PostgresSQL, Azure SQL, GIT beneficial
Proven hands-on skills with enterprise level clustered, mirrored and replicated database environments -especially for Disaster Recovery purposes
Ability to analyze system software/and hardware in order to resolve problems and recommend enhancements for increased performance and ease of use
Ability to work under deadlines with a detail-oriented approach to managing work flow
Must be a self-starter and willing to take initiative
Result focused and able to work with little supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills
