As a Data Solution Architect within the Data Services organization, you will play a key role in designing and implementing scalable, cloud-based data platforms that support advanced analytics and data governance. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure architectural standards are met and drive innovation in data ingestion and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement data solutions aligned with cloud strategies and business needs.
- Design and engineer data lake environments including data source identification, extraction, modeling, and user self-service capabilities.
- Conduct governance and quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with architectural standards.
- Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to evaluate emerging technologies and define future roadmaps.
- Mentor and support global and regional Data Services teams with methodologies, tools, and technical expertise.
- Collaborate with Data Governance and PMO teams to ensure process adherence and delivery excellence.
- Provide feedback to improve data acquisition, warehousing methodologies, and tooling.
- Stay informed on product features and contribute to value realization.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in data architecture and platform engineering (or 4+ years with a Master's degree).
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with AWS services: S3, KMS, Lambda, Glue/Spark, SQS, EventBridge.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java; familiarity with OOP and functional principles.
- Proficient in AWS networking (VPC, subnets, routing, NAT gateways, security groups) and IAM (roles, policies, cross-account access).
- Solid understanding of Spark architecture and performance tuning.
- Advanced SQL skills; experience with Redshift, Athena, or similar distributed engines.
- Experience with Terraform, Git/GitHub workflows, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins).
- Familiarity with data lake architectures, data governance, and monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch).
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB).
- Experience with data integration and quality tools across no-code, low-code, and code-first platforms (e.g., Alteryx, Trifacta, Informatica, Databricks).
Business & Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation skills, especially for complex technical topics.
- Effective collaboration with globally dispersed stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Data-driven mindset with clear problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Team-oriented with leadership and delegation skills.
