Role: Senior Project Manager Information Technology & Clinical Engineering

Location: Remote This role is generally remote but they ask that the person be in the Orlando, FL or Tamp, FL area. They may need to come onsite like once every other month.

Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager Information Technology & Clinical Engineering leads the planning, coordination, and execution of application integration projects for new hospital construction initiatives. This role focuses on delivering clinical and

operational technologies that support patient care, safety, and experience across departments such as Laboratory, Imaging, Pharmacy, Surgery, and Virtual Health. Responsibilities include analyzing clinical workflows, defining project scope, managing complex timelines and interdependencies, leading multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring successful system implementation aligned with facility construction milestones.

Essential Functions

Project Leadership & Oversight

Manages all phases of multiple, concurrent healthcare IT projects-from initiation and planning through execution, implementation, and closure-with a focus on clinical systems required for new hospital operations.

Provides leadership to cross-functional teams including Clinical Engineering, IT, Facilities, and operational stakeholders. Coaches project contributors on methodologies and healthcare-specific delivery best practices.

Directs functional and technical teams to develop integration strategies that support patient-centric care environments, ensuring applications are

deployed in alignment with construction and operational timelines.

Project Planning & Documentation

Collaborates with clinical and operational stakeholders to gather requirements and define project scope related to patient care systems, communications platforms, and digital enablement.

Develops and maintains detailed project plans, incorporating task dependencies, risk management, clinical readiness, and technology milestones tied to construction phases.

Designs communication strategies and training plans that consider end-user roles, workflows, and go-live timelines in clinical environments.

Maintains comprehensive project documentation including requirements, schedules, meeting notes, and status reports in collaborative platforms.

Resource & Vendor Management

Coordinates with internal technical teams and clinical stakeholders to ensure resource availability for application implementation, testing, and go-live support.

Participates in defining statements of work, service level agreements, and other contractual components with third-party vendors supporting clinical technology deployments.

Manages vendor relationships throughout implementation, including onboarding, coordination, and performance evaluation. Supports RFP development and vendor selection processes aligned with healthcare integration needs.

Project Monitoring & Control

Ensures adherence to project governance, compliance requirements, and construction project integration timelines.

Oversees project budgets including forecasting, tracking, and approval of expenditures associated with application deployment and integration services.

Proactively manages risks, scope changes, and integration challenges common to healthcare and construction projects.

Provides structured, recurring updates to leadership on project scope, schedule, and cost, highlighting progress on system readiness for go-live.

Continuous Improvement & Training

Leads structured project close-out processes including lessons learned and continuous improvement documentation focused on clinical technology deployment.

Tracks and drives resolution of post-implementation issues and action items to enhance integration efficiency and clinical satisfaction.

Delivers knowledge-sharing sessions and mentoring for other project managers on healthcare technology delivery in construction contexts.

Advises leadership on project sequencing, integration planning, and prioritization within IT and clinical governance structures.

Works with stakeholders to map and improve workflows impacted by new system implementations across departments such as surgery, pharmacy, imaging, and inpatient care.

Other Related Functions

Communicates clearly and professionally with stakeholders at all levels, including clinical leadership, technical teams, and executives.

Demonstrates a strong understanding of clinical operations and how integrated technologies support care delivery and efficiency.

Participates in governance forums and planning committees to represent integration requirements and project progress.

Escalates risks and challenges that may impact construction milestones or operational readiness, ensuring proactive resolution.

Education/Training

Bachelor's degree OR one of the following is required:

Associate's degree and two (2) additional years of directly related work experience.

High School diploma or equivalent and four (4) additional years of directly related work experience.

Licensure/Certification

Current Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.

Required Experience

Minimum five (5) years of IT project management experience, including at least three (3) years in healthcare application integration or clinical system deployment.

Proven success managing application implementations in environments such as hospitals, outpatient facilities, or health systems.

Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and the unique challenges of deploying systems in new construction projects.

Demonstrated ability to lead multiple complex initiatives simultaneously while coordinating across IT, Clinical Engineering, Facilities, and vendor partners.
