As a data engineer, you know that organizing data can yield pivotal insights when it's gathered from disparate sources. We need an experienced data engineer like you to help our clients find answers in their data to impact important missions-from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence.
As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you'll help build advanced technology solutions and implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You'll deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.
Here, you'll work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You'll use your experience in analytical exploration and data examination while you manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. You Have:
- Experience configuring IAM roles, instance profiles, and networking, such as VPCs or security groups, for Databricks on AWS
- Experience managing Databricks clusters, jobs, notebooks, and libraries in a secure, scalable environment
- Experience with Delta Lake and its role in secure, auditable data pipelines
- Experience integrating Databricks with AWS-native services, such as S3, Glue, Lake Formation, Redshift, or CloudWatch
- Experience with design of DevOPs Code pipeline to deploy the AWS Cloud Infrastructure using Cloud Formation or Terraform for EDP Deployed AI/ML platform using EKS and ECS
- Knowledge of Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Databricks CLI or API for infrastructure automation
- IRS Moderate Risk Background Investigation (IRS MBI)
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience administering Databricks on AWS, including workspace setup and management, or 8+ years of experience administering Databricks on AWS, including workspace setup and management in lieu of a degree
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with Unity Catalog and attribute-based access control (ABAC) in support of fine-grained data security
- Experience implementing audit logging and monitoring aligned with federal Authority to Operate (ATO) processes
- Experience with DevSecOps pipelines for Databricks artifacts using GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or Jenkins
- Knowledge of federal data governance frameworks, such as NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and OMB A-130
- Knowledge of FISMA compliance, data classification, and retention policies
- Ability to support cross-agency collaboration, data-sharing controls, and user onboarding in a multi-tenant environment
