Title: Business Analyst (With data governance & Utility providers (Electric, Water)

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)

Client: Austin Energy -(DAG2607)

Duration: 10+ Months

Due date: 11/24/2025

Rate: $60/hr on C2C

Resources are currently working remotely, but based on job requirements, candidates may be required to report to a work location 2-3 times/week.

Job Description: This role will work independently and with various stakeholders to lead the review, analysis, and evaluation of business systems with a strong focus on aligning processes with strategic business frameworks. It will be responsible for developing and refining business processes to support organizational goals, ensuring that systems and workflows are structured to drive efficiency, scalability, and value creation.

The role will include evaluating business processes that need to be developed or reengineered, identifying opportunities to streamline operations and implement best practice, utilizing industry-standard methodologies for business process mapping and framework alignment to design optimized workflows that support cross-functional collaboration and performance improvement.

This position will play a key role in data governance initiatives, helping to define policies, standards, and practices that ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance across the organization. It will support the development of governance frameworks that align with enterprise data strategies.

The role will collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather and define requirements for onboarding data into a modern data platform, ensuring that data assets are integrated in a way that supports analytics, reporting, and business intelligence objectives.

This role will be responsible for producing comprehensive documentation detailing business requirements, process flows, and system functionalities as part of the job duties.

Required skills:

Bachelor degree in a field related to the job. Experience may substitute for education for up to 4

years.

4-7 Years of Experience as a Business Analyst in an IT or technical environment, working closely with developers, solutions architects, data teams, and their internal customers.

4-7 Years of Experience designing and developing business process frameworks, including the creation of standardized models, workflows, and governance structures.

4-7 Years of Familiarity with industry-standard business process mapping tools and methodologies.

4-7 Years of Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to build scalable, repeatable business processes that support organizational growth and efficiency.

4-7 Years of Hands-on experience in business process development/reengineering, including the ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements through technology.

Preferred skills:

2+ Years of Experience working with Utility providers (Electric, Water, etc).

2+ Years of Experience analyzing raw data using tools such as Excel, Tableau, PowerBI or similar platforms to support data-driven decision-making.

2+ Years of Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery, Databricks) and understanding of how they support analytics and business intelligence, including knowledge of data governance within modern data platforms.

2+ Years of Working knowledge of data governance principles, including data quality, stewardship, and compliance best practices.
