Job Description:
  • The Network/Telecom Support Technician is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and managing network infrastructure, network-related devices, and telecommunications systems across Company sites.
  • This includes both routine and emergency operations, as well as providing on-site smart hands support for a wide range of IT and telecom equipment.
Responsibilities:
  • Support and maintain network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewalls, WiFi, IP Telephony (IPT), and RF equipment such as microwave radios, cellular nodes, and VSATs.
  • Respond to ServiceNow incident tickets, troubleshooting issues, performing patching, cable installations, and equipment recovery.
  • Install, remove, or swap network and telecommunications equipment; install power leads and identify network circuits, including tagging demark locations.
  • Provide escort services for third-party vendors and subcontractors on-site as required.
  • Perform IMAC activities for end-user business LAN and voice devices.
  • Troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair fiber optic and copper cabling, WiFi/BLE systems, microwave systems, radio systems (HF, VHF, UHF), VSAT, cellular (4G, 5G, NB-IoT, LTE-M), LPWAN systems (LoRaWAN), and IIoT/OT systems.
  • Deploy and maintain pre-wired solar panel/battery power systems and specialty telecom systems including CCTV, PAGA, Intercom, Fire/Intruder Alarm systems for remote or offshore sites.
  • Monitor emergency conditions affecting operations and provide support in alignment with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.
  • Identify and report communications room environmental issues such as cooling failures or water leaks.
  • Collaborate with IT, design, engineering teams, global IT Service Desk, ITOC, telcos, managed service providers, and business units to restore services and support network/telecom requirements for business units, major capital projects (MCPs), and M&A activities.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
  • Adhere to Company s risk management, change management, security, audit, and operational excellence standards.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting and managing network infrastructure and network-related devices.
  • Experience with racking, stacking, cabling, and decommissioning network hardware devices.
  • Experience in site services support for network device maintenance, console/remote access, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, WiFi, IP Telephony, and RF equipment (microwave, cellular, VSAT).
  • Proficiency in patching, equipment installation/removal, circuit identification, and power installations.
  • Ability to work on emergency response and business continuity operations.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for IT and telecom systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical installation tasks.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
Preferred / Nice to Have:
  • Hands-on experience with specialty telecommunications systems (CCTV, PAGA, Intercom, Fire/Intruder Alarm).
  • Experience with cloud-based or remote management systems for network and telecom devices.
  • Knowledge of IIoT/OT systems and low-power WAN networks.
  • Experience supporting M&A and major capital projects in IT/telecom.
