Job Details
We are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical assistance to end-users. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, setting up new systems, and ensuring optimal IT performance for employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for desktop, laptop, and mobile devices (Windows, macOS, basic mobile support).
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot software and hardware.
- Support peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, and network equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues via phone, email, remote tools, or in person.
- Manage user accounts and permissions (Active Directory knowledge preferred).
- Setup and maintain user workstations and IT equipment.
- Support Microsoft Office 365, email configurations, and standard business applications.
- Maintain an inventory of IT assets and ensure timely updates.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs or replacements.
- Document technical issues, solutions, and user guides.
- Ensure security best practices are followed across all user devices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in desktop support, IT helpdesk, or technical support roles.
- Good knowledge of Windows OS (Windows 10/11), basic knowledge of macOS.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, VPN, and remote desktop tools.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- IT certifications like CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or similar are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ticketing tools (ServiceNow, JIRA, etc.).
- Exposure to ITIL processes.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
