Job Details

Overview

We are looking for a Systems Engineer with strong data engineering and modeling skills to support the design, development, and optimization of ontologies and data workflows in Palantir Foundry. This role will focus on turning complex business data into well-structured, meaningful datasets and tools within Foundry to empower analytics, reporting, and operational decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ontology & Data Modeling
    • Design and build ontologies in Foundry to represent business processes, entities, and relationships.
    • Translate business requirements into scalable data models that drive analytics and decision-making.
    • Collaborate with business analysts and data engineers to ensure ontologies accurately reflect business needs.
  • Foundry Data Integration & Transformation
    • Ingest, clean, and transform data within Foundry using Code Workbooks, Contour, and other Foundry tools.
    • Develop pipelines and workflows to ensure data accuracy, timeliness, and usability.
    • Optimize data structures for performance and reusability across projects.
  • Analytics Enablement
    • Build data products, dashboards, and analytics layers in Foundry to support business users.
    • Work with stakeholders to design datasets and tools for self-service analytics.
    • Support advanced analytics initiatives, such as AI/ML or forecasting, using Foundry data models.
  • Collaboration & Documentation
    • Partner with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to understand use cases and requirements.
    • Document ontologies, data flows, and best practices for future scalability and knowledge transfer.
  • Quality & Governance
    • Implement data quality checks, version control, and governance practices within Foundry.
    • Ensure alignment with organizational data standards, security, and compliance requirements.

Location for this position will be at North Kingstown, RI at our Quonset Point Facility. Hybrid opportunities are available.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems
  • 0-5 years of experience with data modeling, ETL processes, or data pipeline development.

Preferred:
  • Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry or similar data integration and analytics platforms.
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data pipeline development.

Skills

  • Excellent collaboration skills to work with cross-functional business and technical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to explain complex data concepts in clear, simple terms to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and modern data architectures.
