Job Title: Business Analyst/Owner - Release Management

Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid could be just 1 day a week in office)

Duration: Long-term contract with extensions available

Industry: Pharmaceutical / Biotech

Pay Rate: $45-$65/hr -- must be on our W2 (no 1099, corp to corp, or sponsorship)


Company Overview:

Our client, a leading global biopharmaceutical company, is seeking a Business Analyst to support their Business Release Management (BRM) team. Position Summary:

The Business Analyst will support two Release Owners responsible for managing major system releases. This role will bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution, helping to create structured documentation, support release planning, and ensure process consistency and clarity across the team.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for process improvement, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic, highly regulated environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support major release planning efforts led by Release Owners

  • Translate business needs into clear documentation such as user stories, epics, and business requirements (BRDs)

  • Develop user guides and step-by-step process walkthroughs

  • Create and maintain process documentation to support training and compliance

  • Assist in preparing materials for CCRB (Change Control Review Board) presentations

  • Identify and document opportunities for process translation and improvement

  • Help build release scorecards to evaluate success and impact

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including testers, developers, and business leads


Required Qualifications:

  • 3-7 years of experience in a Business Analyst/Owner, Release Analyst, Process Analyst, or related role

  • Demonstrated experience with:

    • Writing and interpreting user stories and epics

    • Supporting UAT, validation testing, or formal release processes

    • Creating clear, concise process documentation and user guides

    • Working with BRDs or similar business requirement documents

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong cross-functional coordination skills

  • Comfortable working in a complex system landscape with a steep learning curve

  • Highly collaborative and comfortable in a direct, fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry highly prefered

  • Familiarity with Salesforce (not truly needed since their in house sytem is very extensive and will take time to learn but it is built on Salesforce)

  • Experience with collaboration working in diverse teams; must be inclusive and open to new perspectives

  • Adaptability and curiosity - someone who thrives being "comfortable being uncomfortable -- their system is complex and can take up to 6 months to understand but this is also why this will be long term (they like to keep people with that knowledge)
