Position Description:

The TS Department is looking for a Vice President for the Enterprise Data & Technology Team to lead the design and implementation of a best-in-class data ecosystem that relies on governed, high quality, single source of truth data to ultimately enable data analytics capabilities across the Firm. Candidates will be required to gain a deep understanding of relevant Firm business data and processes, enterprise data models and the enterprise data warehouse to help design and deliver strategic data and analytic solutions to uncover enterprise insights and drive business results. Candidates must be able to manage a small team of data analysts and have matrixed oversight of business analysts across the department where data centric projects are involved.
This a strategic, highly visible role that requires critical thinking, enterprise vision and strong data skills to oversee the development of a Data Management Program including capturing data quality metrics. This role will be the technical product owner for the Business Glossary and Legal Entity Master Applications. This role requires building strong partnerships within the TS Department and with users at all levels; exceptional verbal and written communication skills are a must in order to persuade and influence successful outcomes regarding data sourcing and management.

The ideal candidate must be able to perform the following:
  • Become a subject matter expert in core business functions and data models
  • Analyze and understand complex business processes and present them in an understandable and logical format
  • Engage an end-to-end approach by "connecting the dots across all pieces of data that make up a solution leveraging all available assets
  • Solicit and develop detailed requirements including Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), business process diagrams with data flows, business requirements and success criteria as well as the ability to constructively challenge requirements and current state to increase overall value of data to the Firm
  • Become a trusted advisor to key business stakeholders, sponsors and technology colleagues
  • Independently execute complex data analysis across multiple platforms using SQL, Excel, Power BI and other tools
  • Collaborate with data architects and software engineers to architect and deliver solutions
  • Facilitate meetings with all levels of the organization including senior business stakeholders and senior management
  • Design and deliver ad-hoc queries to stakeholders for data validation by utilizing reporting tools or SQL
  • Recommend data governance and stewardship best practices and procedures; partner with data owners and stewards on implementation
  • Proactively identify and engage available resources and subject matter experts in related areas to achieve goals
  • Multitask and manage time / priorities under pressure while meeting deadlines
  • Be resourceful to proactively engage resources to achieve project goals
  • Manager Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple resources and projects concurrently to ensure successful completion of projects
  • Take an active role in performance management process by completing goal setting, interim review and year-end review on a timely basis; solicit ongoing feedback
  • Provide accurate work estimates and oversee delivery against budget
  • Ensure organizational design and team are in place to deliver against plans
  • Create an environment where data and analytics professionals can develop their skills and grow their careers through taking on increased responsibility

Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (Information Management, Data Analytics, Computer Science or related field preferred) with 7-10 years of experience in a similar role in Financial Services
  • Established experience delivering information management solutions to organizations
  • Proven experience with data modeling, enterprise data warehouse designs, BI & analytics and managing data assets in complex organizations is required
  • Exceptional data analysis skills and strong attention to detail are required including leveraging SQL to complete analysis
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project); experience with Power BI is a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Full lifecycle experience implementing data and analytics solutions with a working knowledge of agile development, SCRUM and DevOps
  • Motivated by a fast-paced, growing and complex environment
  • Team-oriented with ability to multitask
  • Executing small to medium-sized projects and a general understanding of Project Management principles are desired
  • Proactive self-starter with a positive can-do and 'no job too small or big' attitude
