Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)-Azure/Terraform

Full time position.

Lake Zurich, IL (Onsite Position)

 

We are actively seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a specialization in DevOps to enhance the reliability and performance of our IT systems. This pivotal role encompasses the strategic design, robust implementation, and meticulous maintenance of our infrastructure and the associated tools. These are essential for supporting our cadre of internal and external stakeholders, as well as our comprehensive software development and delivery workflows. The qualified candidate familiar with SLI, SLO and blameless culture.

 

Essential Functions and Duties:

 

  • Continuous Integration and Deployment:
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD infrastructure pipelines for server build Azure/On-prem.
  • Automate build, test, and deployment processes.
  • System Administration and Infrastructure Management:
  • Oversee and manage cloud -based and on-prem infrastructure.
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
  • Set up and manage a SQL DB s for organization in Azure/On-Prem

 

Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

  • Setup and manage monitoring systems for various applications and server production systems.
  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.

 

Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance and industry-standard security practices from infosec.
  • Implement security measures and infrastructure hardening.

 

Collaboration and Support:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of systems, infrastructure, and processes.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on SRE best practices for Help Desk.
  • Work closely with IT and software development teams to improve automation.

 

Research and Development:

  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and tools in DevOps.
  • Experiment and recommend technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Department Specific/Additional Duties:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools: Jenkins, Artifactory, VRA, Ansible, Terraform
  • ALM tools like JIRA, Confluence
  • MS SQL
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Version Control: GitLab/GitHub/GitOps
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, and security best practices
  • Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Self-Starter with attention to detail, led by influence and able to prioritize to get things done.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestrations (e.g., Kubernetes/Docker/OpenShift/Helm)
  • Mentor and train Help Desk members.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
