As a Senior Software Engineer, you are responsible for developing high performance and scalable WFS Application that meet the needs of next generation Supply Chain, in particular it's Walmart Fulfillment Services (exposing Walmart's Supply chain assets to Sellers) that is built largely on an event driven platform implemented via a micro-service architecture. The platform runs in the public cloud and uses a large number of technologies and middle ware. This product is responsible for enabling sellers to use Walmart's services to fulfill customer orders taken on behalf of seller on Walmart.com. We are looking to bring more intellectually curious engineers who are passionate about technology in general.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00

Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in Software Engineering and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans.
- Participate in medium- to large-scale projects.
- Participate in team of application engineers, architect and product visionaries to design, prototype and build technology-driven products that will serve the current and future needs of ecommerce
- Analyzes business problems to design solutions and/or implements and tests complex code changes for specific requirements or application/standalone program.
- Primarily responsible for delivering high quality technical designs and code for the product requirements in a fast-paced agile scrum sprint.
- Designing complex systems which are scalable and fault tolerant.
- Implement application which meet throughput and SLAs requirements,
- Implement unit test cases, perform code reviews and write feature documentation.
- Implement reconciliation flows to ensure data is consistent across functional modules and systems.
- Perform build, deployment and continuous integration processes to move the code and configurations from local development environments to QA & Production environments.
- Drive production deployments using platform's automated CI and deployment tools
- Provide support as SME for the functional domain.
- Responsible for production environment health as first priority, enabling automated monitoring and alerting and ensuring close to 100% uptime.
- Support Business requests for investigation and analysis
- Troubleshoot business and production issues
- Help the team leverage and contribute to open-source technologies
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 5-7 years or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 3-5 years of experience
- Proven industry experience with large scale distributed systems
- Solid experience with object-oriented and/or event driven systems
- Strong programming experience in object-oriented programming e.g. Java, Scala
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Experience building application with Spring Boot.
- Experience with asynchronous technologies like Kafka, JMS etc.
- Experience analyzing application for performance degradation and come up with plans to improve the same.
- Working experience with Kubernetes
- In depth knowledge of SQL/No-SQL and database technologies (Oracle, Cosmos DB, ElasticSearch, Casandra and Solr.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Scripting skills in at least one of the following: Shell, Perl, Python.
- Working experience with cloud technologies like Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong aptitude for writing efficient code
- Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Spark)
- Excellent analytics skills to understand the systems and identify gaps.
- Attitude to thrive in a fun, fast-paced start-up like environment
- Experience in production system operations (logging, telemetry, alerting etc.)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Has ambition and vigor to add value to a rapidly growing development team
- Design, Develop, prototype and build micro services using Spring, Java.
- Working on SQL/No-SQL database technologies such as Oracle, Cosmos DB, ElasticSearch, Casandra and Solr.
- Working with Async Message processing systems like Kafka and JMS technologies to process the messages and integrate across systems.
- Tune performance of the application by understanding and monitoring resource consumption of both memory and CPUs.
- Build and deploy applications using CI/CD tools.
- Integrate application with various software stacks from Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
- Developing functional and unit test cases by using Junit and TestNG frameworks.
- Building Continuous code Integration & deployment pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Maven.
- Working on code version control systems like GitHub and project tracking and management tools like JIRA, Kanban and Confluence.
- Monitor application status and identify root cause for failures and necessary changes to resolve the problem from reoccurring in future.
- Hand-On experience on application logging, reporting and monitoring
tools like Splunk and Grafana
