Job Title: Data Scientist
Location: Urbandale, IA
Duration: 1+ Year Contract

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our team in Urbandale, IA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing production-ready models, working with large datasets, and delivering actionable insights through advanced analytics and data visualization.

Key Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in developing production-grade models using object-oriented programming languages, particularly Python.
  • Strong experience with data-access technologies such as SQL, Spark, Databricks, BigQuery, and MongoDB.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools including Tableau, Power BI, and Google Data Studio.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling techniques, including normalization, data quality assessment, attribute analysis, and performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience in building machine learning models such as regression, supervised and unsupervised learning, probabilistic inference, and natural language processing.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead meetings, document work for reproducibility, write persuasively, and convey complex concepts clearly.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
  • Experience with additional programming languages such as R, JavaScript, or Scala.
  • A portfolio showcasing professional work, including publications, patents, or relevant project work.
  • Familiarity with distributed datasets and various data structures, including time-series, geo-tagged, text, structured, and unstructured data.
  • Experience with simulation techniques such as Monte Carlo simulations and Gibbs sampling.
  • Knowledge of model validation techniques, including bias detection and drift measurement.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Sales, and Finance.
  • Strong aptitude for translating complex analytical insights into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
