We are seeking a talented Lead Cloud Engineer to join our team and support the development of a modern platform for regional accounting firms that enables them to stay independent while accessing the resources of a large CPA firm to help them grow. Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage the tools used to develop, deploy, monitor, and support our cloud infrastructure and services using industry-standard technologies.
- Monitor and troubleshoot cloud resources and applications.
- Analyze cloud resource usage to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Administer the software development pipeline, security policies, and vulnerability detection.
- Automate and optimize processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Develop and deploy monitoring tools and scripts for applications and systems.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal and external customers on cloud-related issues.
- Design and deploy highly available, scalable and secure cloud infrastructure with a focus on Azure using industry best practices leveraging the WAF and CAF based frameworks.
- Implement infrastructure migration methodologies and techniques to migrate workloads into the cloud, specifically Azure.
- Design and develop automation to support continuous delivery and continuous integration process when it comes to cloud infrastructure.
- Work closely with the Development and Operations teams to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployment of infrastructure (DevOps) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Understanding of Azure Database technologies (both IaaS and PaaS) and options to support the migration process. This will include and not limited to Azure database migration technologies and refactoring options.
- Analyze and resolve configuration issues in development, test, and production environments.
- Build effective monitoring, logging and auditing of production systems to ensure compliance with mandated compliance policies (e.g., NIST, SOC2, PCI/DSS).
- Experience implementing secure (zero trust) infrastructure on Azure.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Virtual Machines, Azure Database and storage technologies (Storage Accounts, SQL Server, CosmosDB), Virtual Networks, Azure Site Recovery, Traffic Manager, Azure Automation, ARM Templates, Azure Load balancer, API Gateway and Azure AD.
- Cloud Management: Policy, RBAC roles, Cost Management, Monitor and Alerting, Site Recovery, Disaster Recovery
- On-premise infrastructure: Active Directory, DNS, VMWare, Hyper-V, firewalls, routing
- Identity and user management solutions provided by Azure or 3rd party.
- Experience with Automation scripting including PowerShell and other configuration as code tools.
- Deployment automation languages and tools such as JSON Template, Terraform, Ansible.
- Experience with Azure and 3rd party monitoring tools and firewall devices.
- Azure WAF (Well Architected Framework) and CAF (Cloud Adoption Framework) knowledgebase and real-world application.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technology related field, or 7+ years of experience working in cloud environments such as Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
- Azure Virtual certifications is preferred.
- Microsoft certifications is preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.).
- Experience building Azure DevOps pipelines with YAML.
- Strong knowledge of cloud services and tools (e.g., App Services, Functions, databases, storage, monitoring, scripting languages).
- Experience with Azure CLI, PowerShell, Terraform, ARM templates, or other scripting/infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, etc.).
- Knowledge of DevOps concepts, security principles, and best practices.
- Experience with networking, databases, and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- PowerShell Scripting Required.
- Good communication Skills, the ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical people.
- The ability to work in a team environment.
