About the Opportunity:
508 Tester serves as a 508 tester and advocate for accessibility, a resource for colleagues who need to develop accessible products and applications in the Government space. Apply specific functional knowledge, including working and general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance and review or guide activities of more junior employees.

Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as 508 tester and advocate for accessibility, a resource for colleagues who need to develop accessible products and applications in the Government space
- Apply specific functional knowledge, including working and general industry knowledge
- Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity
- Work independently with some guidance and review or guide activities of more junior employees
Basic Qualifications
- 2 plus years of experience as a 508 accessibility specialist
- 2 plus years of experience with accessibility and 508 remediation of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents
- 2 years of experience with the 508 tagging process in Adobe PDF
- Knowledge of accessibility and 508 testing processes, such as DHS Trusted Tester, and with assistive technology, such as JAWS, NVDA, ZoomText, Dragon, or Keyboard testing
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 A and AA standards and 508 standards as they apply to Information Communications Technology (ICT)
- Knowledge of CommonLook Software
- Ability to validate 508 compliances against government accessibility standards
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Bachelor's degree
- Ability to follow a repeatable method of testing to produce audit
- Ability to explain clearly to developers next steps for compliance
