Position: Mechanical Technician
Location: Redondo Beach, CA

About the Role
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and integration of advanced mechanical and electromechanical systems used in space applications. The Mechanical Technician will support engineering teams by assembling, testing, and modifying flight hardware in a cleanroom environment. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in mechanical manufacturing or integration.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical assembly and integration of flight hardware using engineering drawings and process documentation.
- Execute bonding operations using adhesives for thermal, electrical, and structural applications.
- Handle sensitive components with strict adherence to ESD and contamination control protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams to ensure task completion and quality.
- Provide feedback to improve manufacturability and design efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation and report hardware status to supervisors.
- Operate within cleanroom environments and high bays.
- Travel and work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Mechanical Technician 3:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience or additional education.
Mechanical Technician 4:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience or additional education.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in mechanical assembly using blueprints, engineering drawings, or written instructions.
- Experience with MS Office Suite and other relevant software tools.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage stress in high-pressure situations.
- Willingness to work second shift and travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in mechanical manufacturing or integration and testing.
- Experience working with space flight hardware and composite materials.
- Active In-Scope SCI clearance or ability to obtain one.
- Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and flight hardware handling.
