ROLE: Structural Bridge Engineer IV

Structural Bridge Engineer IV
Responsibilities Include:
Lead the design, development, and preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for bridges in compliance with IDOT and Tollway standards.
Collaborate closely with professional engineers to conduct structural analysis and design, focusing on Illinois Highway and Tollway bridge projects.
Review shop drawings and structural inspection of bridges and highway structures.
Facilitate design meetings and coordinate with team members to ensure project success.
Mentor, train, and support junior staff members to foster professional growth.
Apply current and standard bridge inspection techniques to conduct NBIS bridge inspections for IDOT.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with Structural emphasis
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in bridge structural design or inspection, adhering to IDOT standards.
CDOT and Tollway experience.
Bridge inspection experience and FHWA qualification.
IDOT Team Leader certification is preferred.
Successful completion of the National Highway Institute (NHI) training course #130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges or #130056 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges for Professional Engineers is required.
Proficiency with structural analysis and design software; familiarity with MicroStation is preferred.
Illinois PE certification required.
Illinois SE registration or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
Experience in business development and project management.
